WASHINGTON - Serbia's First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali began a working visit to Washington on Thursday by attending an IMF Constituency meeting.
Mali is in Washington for the October 13-18 IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings.
Serbia is a member of the Swiss Constituency, through which it has been exercising its right to vote in the IMF and the World Bank since December 2000.
Mali noted that Serbia's participation in the annual meetings was very important as they were the number one event in the world when it comes to financial institutions, and that it was good to showcase what Serbia had achieved to date as a country whose BBB- credit rating had been reaffirmed this year.
The Washington conference has brought together central bank governors, finance ministers, MPs, private sector executives, representatives of civil society organisations and academics with a view to addressing global issues.
