BELGRADE - Talks about establishing a Belgrade-Budapest-Vienna high-speed rail line are underway, a source at the Serbian Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure confirmed to Tanjug on Monday.
The Hungarian state railway company MAV has announced a high-speed rail line between Belgrade and Budapest, due to be put into operation in 2026, would also be extended to Vienna next year.
A high-speed train journey between Belgrade and Vienna would take slightly longer than six hours, or about three hours less than a bus trip on the same route.
