BELGRADE - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Friday Air Serbia flights between Belgrade and China's financial and industrial hub of Tianjin would boost Sino-Serbian economic ties, attract new investments to Serbia and bring many Chinese tourists to the country once the COVID-19 situation normalised.
Brnabic was speaking at a press conference at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla airport ahead of the launch of direct Air Serbia flights to Tianjin.
A wide-body Airbus A330 passenger jet is scheduled to take off for the Chinese port city at 2.10 pm.
Brnabic said the flights would also be a link to the capital Beijing, half an hour from Tianjin by high-speed train.
She said they would boost economic and business cooperation between Serbia and China and strengthen cultural ties as the two countries had opened cultural centres in Beijing and Belgrade, respectively.
"This flight is an indicator that good things are ahead of us," Brnabic also said.
