BOLOGNA - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic said on Tuesday that Tazzari, Italy's leading manufacturer of motor vehicle parts and electric cars, was planning to start investing in Serbia this year.
Speaking to Tanjug during a visit to a Tazzari Group factory in Imola, Mesarovic said Serbia was the most interesting destination for a potential investment by the company.
"I expect them to come to Serbia within 15 days, when we will continue discussions and begin open talks during which we will certainly be lobbying for it (the destination) to be Serbia," she said.
Mesarovic said the company was primarily manufacturing cast aluminium engine parts and that its main customers included Ducati, Lamborghini, Maserati and Ferrari.
She also said Tazzari had its own production of light electric cars that it wanted to expand further in Europe.
Mesarovic said Tazzari was especially interested in FTAs Serbia had signed with several countries, including China, Egypt and the UAE.
On Monday, Mesarovic kicked off a visit to Italy with a meeting with representatives of Rome-based CSA, a leader in the Italian IT and digitalisation sector, which expressed a desire to invest in Serbia.
