Lazarevic meets with BIE's Kerkentzes

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Jagoda Lazarevic, who is also Serbia's EXPO 2027 commissioner, met with Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Secretary General Dimitri Kerkentzes in Belgrade on Wednesday.
Lazarevic said coordination with BIE was exceptionally important for carrying out procedures and for compliance with international standards during preparations for EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
She noted that Serbia and BIE had a decade-long successful business cooperation, including, in particular, exceptional cooperation in the organisation of, and preparations for, EXPO 2020 Dubai, where Serbia presented itself successfully, Lazarevic's ministry said in a statement.
"Today, we discussed preparations for Specialised EXPO 2027 Belgrade, the organisational and operational aspects of project implementation," Lazarevic said.
"We also discussed communication with official participants, activities related to preparation of national pavilions, as well as all details related to the large number of EXPO 2027 Belgrade participants," she also said.
Earlier, Kerkentzes and a BIE delegation visited the EXPO 2027 construction site in the Belgrade municipality of Surcin.
Speaking to reporters, Kerkentzes said that, to date, Serbia had met all requirements of the preparations for EXPO 2027.
