IMF downgrades 2026 growth projection for Serbia to 2.8 pct, inflation to rise to 5.2 pct

WASHINGTON - In its latest forecast, released on Tuesday, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) downgraded its 2026 growth projection for Serbia to 2.8 pct, with inflation forecast to rise to 5.2 pct, exceeding the National Bank of Serbia target.

The January 2026 and October 2025 growth projections for this year were 3 pct and 3.6 pct, respectively.

The IMF also revised downwards its 2026 global growth forecast to 3.1 pct - down from 3.3 pct projected in January - with the growth projection for 2027 unchanged at 3.2 pct.
