Mesarovic, Guangzhou mayor discuss potential investments in Serbia

GUANGZHOU - Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic, who is on a visit to Guangzhou, China, met with the city's mayor Sun Zhiyang on Wednesday to discuss opportunities for investments in Serbia by Guangzhou-based companies.

"This city is famous for research and development centres, institutes and new technologies, but it is highly recognised and represented in the automotive industry as well. We want to become a European tech hub, as well as the key link when it comes to these Asian, and Chinese, companies," Mesarovic told Serbian reporters after the meeting.

During the discussion, the minister highlighted the good Serbia-China relations, noting that Serbia had modernised itself thanks to cooperation with Chinese companies on infrastructure projects.

Since Serbia has an FTA with China, Mesarovic urged the Guangzhou mayor to help Serbian products - especially wines - to reach the Chinese market.
