Mesarovic meets with top BYD executives in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN,- Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic met with top executives of Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD in Shenzhen on Thursday to discuss active inclusion of Serbian automotive companies in a sustainable supply chain of a BYD factory in Szeged, Hungary, due to open in Q2 2026, as well as the company's participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
"The company sees Serbia as the most competitive and the most predictable environment, in which it wishes to develop further cooperation. We also discussed major new investments with companies with which BYD does business and which could potentially invest in our country," said Mesarovic, who also invited to company to take part in EXPO 2027.
The invitation was accepted with great interest.
Established in 1995, BYD is a Chinese multinational company that produces electric vehicles, batteries and renewable energy solutions.
It is one of the world's biggest manufacturers of electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as the leading producer of electric vehicle batteries.
