BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic met with the head of the World Bank Office in Serbia Nicola Pontara on Friday to discuss a new multi-stage programme of gas sector development that will contribute to security of supply, diversification of supply routes and further advancement of Serbia's energy infrastructure.
"We are strengthening Serbia's energy security through new projects in the gas sector and strategic partnerships with international institutions," Djedovic Handanovic posted on Instagram.
She noted that Serbia's priority was to build new gas interconnections with North Macedonia and Romania, as well as to boost the capacity of the transport network, compression stations and gas storage facilities, in order to become more stable and more resilient amid global challenges on the energy market.
"We continue to build a modern and reliable energy system for Serbian citizens and businesses that will be sustainable over the long term," Djedovic Handanovic added.
