OFAC extends operating licence for NIS until July 31

BELGRADE - The US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has extended an operating licence for the Serbian oil company NIS for 30 more days - until July 31, Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic announced on Tuesday evening.

"We have just been informed by the OFAC that the operating licence for continued NIS operations has been extended for 30 more days - until July 31. That way, the Pancevo refinery will continue to process crude oil, which is particularly significant amid the global energy crisis," Djedovic Handanovic posted on Instagram.

Since October 9, 2025, NIS has been under US sanctions due to its Russian-majority ownership.

The previous operating licence was valid until July 1.
