BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut chaired on Friday a session of a council for coordination of activities and measures aimed at GDP growth.
"Macut emphasised that the Government of Serbia continues to implement measures aimed at preserving macroeconomic stability, strengthening industrial production, attracting investments and improving the competitiveness of the domestic economy, with a special focus on sustainable economic growth and improving the living standards of citizens," a government statement said.
"The council analysed the state of industrial production, with special emphasis on the energy and processing sectors, as well as opportunities for further stimulating growth rates through strengthening domestic production and competitiveness.
The status of foreign direct investments was also analysed, with consideration of measures that would contribute to their further growth, as well as the improvement of the business environment and investment activity.
Special attention was paid to the situation in agriculture, primarily to the challenges in livestock farming and measures to combat African swine fever, as well as to improving the coverage and quality of data from the agricultural sector, which is important for more efficient planning and implementation of agricultural policy," it also said.
