BANGKOK - A National Bank of Serbia (NBS) delegation presented Serbia's economic results at a meeting with representatives of leading international investors during the International Monetary Fund-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok.

"The discussions with investors focused on the performance and outlook of the Serbian economy, and further steps in developing the domestic financial market," the NBS said in a statement on Friday.

"The NBS delegation particularly highlighted:

- GDP growth of 3.5 pct in the first half of the year, rising to a projected 4.5 pct in 2027, when investment and Expo-related activities will lend a further impetus to growth;

- relative stability of the dinar and robust FX reserves, underpinning macroeconomic stability and business predictability;

- a record export-to-import coverage ratio of close to 95 pct, amid vibrant growth in goods exports;

- further development of the dinar capital market, with government bonds accessible through Euroclear Bank since September this year.

Investment opportunities and economic growth prospects under Serbia’s development plans until 2035 were also addressed.

It was concluded that Serbia has demonstrated that stability and growth can be sustained even in an unfavourable global environment, thanks to timely policy decisions and reserves built up in advance.

During the meeting, investors recognised Serbia’s strong economic fundamentals and expressed confidence in the continuity of sound economic policies," the central bank also said.
