BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Friday Serbia was a country with stable public finances and a serious and responsible economic policy focusing on people and better living standards.
Speaking to Informer TV, Mali said Serbia had not only preserved macroeconomic stability and its public finances but that, amid the toughest of crises, it had also demonstrated it knew how to win, and that its victory was the most visible in the economy, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
Mali noted that there would be no changes to a policy that was producing results as its strength and justifiability had been demonstrated in the years of crisis.
"Financial institutions such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Monetary Fund have acknowledged that Serbia has achieved incredible success throughout all these years and that a strengthening of its international image is only an additional confirmation of all that," he said.
He said government funds were being spent frugally and that those who were monitoring the state of the Serbian economy were able to see that all the money was being directed to investments and infrastructure, wages and pensions and growth.
