NOVI SAD - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Thursday regional cooperation was key to success for everyone in the region.
"The extent to which we succeed in that will make us all the more successful in the future," Brnabic told a panel on a regional single market.
"I would like outsiders to have even less time to deal with us because I think that we know each other well and understand quite well what the recent past was like and how much trouble and problems it brought to us, and that we understand increasingly well the potentials of a different approach to our future," she said.
"The extent to which we are able to cooperate in the economy above all, but also in infrastructure projects, road, railway and river transport ties... as well as in education, innovation, science and experience-sharing, especially between young people, will make us all the more successful in the future," she also said.
She said the Open Balkan initiative was the latest in a series of autochthonous regional initiatives.
"We are a small region, every country is operationally small, with a small population. Unless we learn to respect each other and work together, connect and take joint action, our development and growth will not be as quick, as good and as sustainable as we all need them to be in order to make up for lost time," Brnabic noted.
