Momirovic: Talks on Serbia-UAE FTA have begun

DUBAI - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Monday Serbia had signed a strategic document with the UAE that marked the start of talks on a FTA between the two countries.

"Talks about a UAE-Serbia FTA have formally begun with the signing of this strategic document," said Momirovic, who signed the document on behalf of the Serbian government.

He noted a FTA with the UAE would further boost the "extremely rich" country's investments in Serbia.

"Belgrade Waterfront, Al Dahra, investments in the Port of Novi Sad and many other investments from the UAE are a result of the good political relations between our countries," Momirovic said.

Momirovic, who is on a two-day visit to the UAE, met with the country's Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi earlier in the day.
