Construction of Schott Pharma factory begins in Jagodina

JAGODINA - A cornerstone for a factory to be built by German advanced drug containment solutions provider Schott Pharma was ceremonially laid in Jagodina on Wednesday.

"It is my great honour and privilege to attend today a cornerstone-laying ceremony of another German company and to contribute in a symbolic manner to further advancement of the already good economic cooperation between our country and Europe's largest economy," Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said.

He said he was proud a serious factory would be built in Jagodina.

"Immediately after construction, 130 workers will be hired by this pharmaceuticals company, with a total 350 new jobs to be created in later stages," Momirovic said.

He noted that Germany was Serbia's main external trade partner and that German companies were present in all vital sectors of the Serbian economy.

"German investors, which are on the Top 15 list of Serbian exporters, are making a major contribution to the stable Serbian exports," Momirovic said, adding that foreign investors had confidence in the Serbian economy.
