Vucic: BIO4 campus a big thing for Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday evening the BIO4 Campus - slated to become Europe's new bioeconomic hub - was a "big thing" for Serbia and something that represented the future.

Vucic said this after a ceremonial awarding of the construction permit for the campus.

He said the costs of the project were certain to rise above the anticipated 450 mln euros and likely to reach 600 mln.

"But alright, it is a big thing for our country, and I have misstated that it is our advantage compared to other countries in the region. It is our common advantage, an advantage of the entire region... We must work together on the most significant issues regarding cooperation in science and biology and modern technology. It is something that definitely represents the future," Vucic said.
