BELGRADE - Opening a session of a Serbia-Republika Srpska parliamentary forum, Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Friday joint work on topics that were significant for the Serbs and for protection of the Serbian language, alphabet, culture, tradition and customs continued with Srpska.

Serbia stands firmly with Srpska in every way, Brnabic said, and added that she was pleased to have an opportunity to open a second session of the 22-member forum, noting that Banjaluka had hosted the first one.

One of the conclusions adopted at the first session was an appeal for quicker implementation of a project to establish identical school curricula for several subjects: Serbian language and literature, history, geography, nature and society, music and visual arts, she said.

"That means that we as parliamentarians want to contribute as much as possible to cooperation between Serbia and Srpska and to everything that was launched in the past decade at the initiative of President Aleksandar Vucic in collaboration with (Republika Srpska President) Milorad Dodik in the relationship of building special ties, and that we as parliamentarians want to support, help and speed up the work of executive authorities," Brnabic said.

She said the agenda of the second session included expediting the construction of memorial complexes at Donja Gradina, Republika Srpska, and in Belgrade as joint projects aimed at preservation of the culture of remembrance and national dignity, as well as a programme of work for 2025, when at least two sessions would be held - in Banjaluka in the spring and in Belgrade in the autumn.Service Photo Gallery
