BANJALUKA - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Banjaluka on Friday he did not understand why Bosnia and Herzegovina was setting political barriers to projects like the construction of an airport in Trebinje, and offered the country to, for instance, take part in building an airport near Sjenica, southwestern Serbia, if it wants to.
Vucic was speaking to reporters after a meeting with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
"We also discussed the Trebinje Airport and I told President Dodik that, if he wants discussions with people from Sarajevo, we have no problem with that, because I see that some people view this as some kind of a political project. To us, it is an important economic project, a business project, and it is no problem to us if they want to take part in financing, or finance, the construction of an airport near Sjenica, on Pester or anywhere else, and we will be delighted with that," Vucic said at a press conference with Dodik.
"Of course I do not understand why there are political barriers and opposition all the time. I am prepared to immediately offer exactly the same thing that we want, to those who want to invest money and make something in Serbian territory where there is a Bosniak majority. We have no problem with that whatsoever," Vucic said.
