Dacic: Protest an attempted coup and assassination of president

BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday evening a protest outside the Presidency of Serbia building in Belgrade was an attempted coup and demanded that the relevant authorities take all necessary measures.

"It is clear that an attempted coup and assassination of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and an attempt of a violent takeover of power were prepared and organised today and this evening," Dacic said in a statement to Tanjug.

He demanded that the relevant state authorities urgently take all measures to protect the constitutional order and public peace and order.

"This is a betrayal of national and state interests for the sake of Serbia's enemies," Dacic noted.
