Bajatovic: I am already certain there will be another postponement of NIS sanctions

BELGRADE - Srbijagas CEO Dusan Bajatovic said on Friday he was already certain US sanctions on Serbia's Russian majority-owned oil company NIS would be postponed for at least one more time.

In an appearance on K1 TV, Bajatovic said NIS had done nothing wrong and that the sanctions were "political."

"There was a ban on purchasing Russian oil - NIS has done nothing wrong because they were not buying Russian oil. You can also see that in NIS balance sheets," Bajatovic explained.

He added that Gazprom neft was under sanctions but that Gazprom was not, and noted that the ownership structure in NIS had changed after Gazprom had acquired approx. 5 pct of Gazprom neft's stake in the company.
