BRUSSELS - EU foreign and security policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday the EU was working on analysing the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to encourage the process of normalisation of relations between the two parties.
"We have a new EU special representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue (Peter Sorensen) and we are sitting down with him also to see what works and what does not work," Kallas said at a press conference with Montenegrin PM Milojko Spajic in Podgorica, when asked about normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations.
"What is important for us is the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia because, without that, none of them can proceed on their European path. So what we are doing during this month is to sit down with the special representative to really go through what the mistakes are, what works, what does not work," Kallas said, noting that the EU wanted to ignite "a new fire" in the normalisation process.
Kallas, who arrived in Montenegro on Monday on her first trip to the Western Balkans, will also visit Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
