BELGRADE - Serbian Progressive Party leader Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday an ongoing blockade of the buildings of national public broadcaster RTS in Belgrade constituted violence and that criminal proceedings must be launched against all identifiable perpetrators to demonstrate the existence of a rule-of-law state.
"The events surrounding the RTS are violence, no one is in a dilemma about that. Prosecutors and the police must file criminal complaints against all those who can be identified. They must get criminal complaints filed against them, otherwise they will stop at nothing," Vucevic said on Happy TV.
It must be demonstrated that there is a rule-of-law state and a legal system, Vucevic said, adding that the state itself - and not just the RTS - was under threat.
"Paradoxically, the RTS had a pro-blockader lean. Their (the blockaders') numbers are dwindling but there are people who are radicalising the situation. In my opinion, the right answer is criminal responsibility for all those who are doing this," Vucevic said.
