BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic received European Council President Antonio Costa on Tuesday to discuss Serbia's further steps on the EU integration path and advancement of the relations with the EU.
Brnabic noted that EU membership was Serbia's strategic commitment and its most significant foreign policy priority, and that the parliament remained a strong pillar of support for all reform processes leading to that goal, an official statement said.
She said she believed the Serbia-EU partnership would be deepened further in the spirit of mutual respect and shared values.
"The EU remains strongly committed to the accession of Serbia as a stable, peaceful and prosperous country, having dealt with the legacy of the past and having chosen to embrace its democratic and European future," Costa noted.
"We are living a very positive momentum in the European Union for enlargement. And this is a clear opportunity for Serbia to build upon it," he also said.
