BRUSSELS - Speaking to reporters after a Brussels meeting with EU foreign policy and security chief Josep Borrell, EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak and Pristina's PM Albin Kurti, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the meeting had been difficult but that he believed there would many more meetings in the period to come.

Vucic said the next meeting was due to take place in North Macedonia on March 18, when Borrell will be on a visit to the region.

"Until then, we should discuss implementation-related matters with Lajcak. It is important that an EU statement... will mention the necessity of implementing all previous agreements. I insisted on a Community of Serb Municipalities, as did the European representatives. Kurti was not ready to accept that now, and we will see if he will in the future."

When asked if Serbia was ready to recognise the so-called Kosovo as independent, Vucic responded Serbia was an UN member state, while the so-called Kosovo was not.

"We always support the international legal order, the UN Charter and the Constitution of Serbia," Vucic said.

Asked if a Community of Serb Municipalities was part of a road map for the talks with Pristina, Vucic said there was still no road map.

"We do not have any. We must sit down and work on a road map. We stopped working on that issue as soon as we started. We have been talking about implementation all the time - let's see who wants to implement what, and how," Vucic said.
