BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) Secretary-General Dimitri Kerkentzes on Tuesday to discuss hosting the specialised EXPO 2027 in Belgrade and said the event was a historic opportunity for Serbia that would also impact the entire Balkans.
Macut noted that, to date, 110 countries had confirmed their participation in EXPO 2027 and said he expected the number to grow considerably.
He said the expo, which he noted was a major event with a long tradition, was a historic opportunity for Serbia and would contribute to the country's economic growth and also impact the entire Balkans.
The first EXPO 2027 International Planning Meeting (IPM) will be held on June 10-11 in Belgrade.
