SNS list won 47.13 pct of votes in Zajecar local elections - commission

BELGRADE - Based on 100 pct of votes counted, the Serbian Progressive Party's (SNS) We Are Not Giving Serbia Away - Aleksandar Vucic electoral list won the highest number of votes in the June 8 local elections in Zajecar, according to the preliminary electoral results, announced by the head of the city electoral commission Nenad Dinulovic on Monday evening.

The SNS list won 47.13 pct of votes, or 27 of the total 50 seats in the local assembly.

The Change We Believe In list won 34.23 pct of votes, or 19 seats, and United to Save Zajecar follows with 7.58 pct, or four seats, Dinulovic said, adding that the three had been the only lists to clear the electoral threshold.

The lists that failed to cross it include the Socialist Party of Serbia.

The voter turnout in Zajecar was 63.64 pct.
