BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received St Kitts and Nevis Parliament Speaker Lanein Blanchette and St Lucia's Parliament Speaker Claudius Francis and Home Affairs Minister Jeremiah Norbert in Belgrade on Tuesday to discuss current global affairs, expansion of cooperation and strengthening the place and the role of small states on the global geopolitical scene.

In an Instagram post, Vucic noted the meeting with the St Kitts and Nevis and St Lucia officials had been cordial and friendly.

He added that he had told them Serbia was ready to advance further the political and economic cooperation with both countries, in the field of digital transformation as well as in agriculture, sports and education.

"I thanked St Lucia for the decision to derecognise the so-called Kosovo and thereby demonstrate respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. As a token of our sincere friendship, I expressed special pleasure and gratitude to that country over its confirmed participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade," Vucic posted.

He added that Serbia remained committed to bolstering its relations with Caribbean states in the spirit of respect, mutual understanding and common interests.
