Vucic, UK ambassador discuss bilateral relations, geopolitics, region

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the UK's Ambassador to Belgrade Edward Ferguson on Tuesday to discuss bilateral relations, the geopolitical situation and the situation in the region.

"An open and substantial discussion with Ambassador Ferguson about Serbia-UK bilateral relations, the geopolitical situation as well as the situation in the region," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that he had thanked Ferguson for the UK's commitment to the Western Balkans and noted that, as the host of the upcoming Berlin Process summit, the UK would contribute to further connectivity and understanding in the region.

"I expressed Serbia's readiness to continue to strengthen its cooperation with the UK in all areas, from political dialogue, economic cooperation and investments, to joint projects in the energy, digitalisation and education sectors. I am convinced that our relations have a potential for an even deeper partnership in the coming years," Vucic said.

At the meeting, Vucic reiterated Serbia was firmly committed to preservation of peace, stability and cooperation in the region and would remain consistent in a policy leading to concrete results and a better future for Serbian citizens.
