Vucic: Projects that will transform face of Serbia discussed with bin Zayed

ABU DHABI - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on a working visit to Abu Dhabi, spoke with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed on Wednesday about current and future joint projects that he noted would transform the face of Serbia and position it further as one of the top modern and advanced countries.

In a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account, Vucic wrote that the meeting had addressed all important issues of today, from the Middle Eastern crisis to Serbia-UAE bilateral relations.

"An extremely important meeting for our country, with the president of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, a man whose word is respected by the whole world and who, for me, above all, is a great friend of our Serbia. We discussed all important issues of today, from the Middle Eastern crisis to our bilateral relations, current and future joint projects that will, as always before, transform the face of Serbia and position it further as a top modern and advanced country," Vucic added.

He added that the topics of the meeting had included EXPO 2027 "as the culmination of the majority of our efforts to present the country to the whole world as what it is - a hub of innovation, science, accelerated growth, know-how and bold visions."

Vucic noted that he had presented to bin Zayed new plans that would transform not only Serbia and the Western Balkan region, but also the entire concept of economic and cultural connectivity in Europe.

"As always, our objectives are high, and in achieving them, we have the support of friends who have always been there for us. Serbia appreciates the support from the Emirates and believes in the strength of the relationship we are building - with mutual respect, trust and a vision of progress," Vucic posted.
