BELGRADE - The Serbian Ministry of Defence said on Monday exports of Serbian-made arms and military equipment had been stopped pursuant to instructions from President Aleksandar Vucic, who is also the Serbian Armed Forces commander-in-chief and chairman of the National Security Council.
"In the future, in addition to consent from other competent ministries and agencies, consent from the National Security Council in line with Article 16, Paragraph 4 of the Law on exports and imports of arms and military equipment will be mandatory for exports of arms and military equipment produced at defence industry factories," the MoD said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, Vucic said Serbian ammunition exports had been stopped completely and that all ammunition was going solely to Serbian army barracks and military stocks.
