SNS wins 50.16 pct of votes in Kosjeric local elections

BELGRADE - A Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) electoral list has won 50.16 pct of votes in local elections in Kosjeric, western Serbia, while the opposition United for Kosjeric list has won 47.62 pct, according to preliminary results released by the national election commission on Tuesday evening after 100 pct of votes counted.
The Russian Party has won 0.64 pct of votes.
The SNS-led list will have 14 seats in the local assembly, while United for Kosjeric will have 13.
Seven thousand and four hundred and ninety-two of 8,897 registered voters cast their ballots at 29 polling stations in the town.
The percentage of invalid ballots was 1.58 pct.
Following the June 8 local elections in Kosjeric, repeat elections were held at one polling station on Tuesday after the Higher Court in Uzice annulled the vote at the station.
