Vucic: People do not want a Serbia where they do not know where they can go

BELGRADE - People do not want a Serbia where they do not know where they can go and whether they can take their children to school or kindergarten, says Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.

Speaking to Informer TV on Tuesday evening, Vucic said some people were angry with him due to a lack of a tougher reaction to blockades of streets and buildings of institutions, but noted that he did not want a tougher reaction as he would regret it in one, two or three months.

He noted that he and his aides had wanted to preserve lives at all costs in incredibly difficult conditions, and that they had succeeded in that.

"And we have demonstrated that, slowly, we can get out of the crisis. When I told you in Sremska Mitrovica that I know the colour revolution is a finished story, that was the first trend of a decline for the blockaders and their popularity," Vucic said.

He noted that he wanted peace and stability in the country to be preserved at all costs.

"And I am trying to ensure that we are lenient while still speaking the truth and being quite clear about what is this that is happening, about what is going on. I think we have managed to do that, and the people notice that, the people see that more and more," Vucic said.
