China, Serbia have tradition of preserving unity - ambassador

BELGRADE - China and Serbia have a tradition of preserving unity and integrity and their friendship is at an all-time high, Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade Li Ming said on Wednesday.

Addressing a conference of the Chinese diaspora for the promotion of peaceful reunification of China, Li said the fact the conference was being held in Belgrade was proof of the strong friendship between the two countries and its development.

Through the friendship between the presidents of Serbia and China, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, the cooperation between the two countries has been raised to the highest level in history, he said.

Serbian Deputy Parliament Speaker Marina Ragus said Serbia and China maintained a long history of friendship, especially in the fight against fascism.

She noted that a FTA signed between the two countries was proof of China's trust in Serbia and a foundation of further development of economic cooperation.
