BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Artur Karpovich in Belgrade on Friday.
Karpovich was paying an official visit to Serbia for the 12th session of a Serbia-Belarus intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
Macut said Serbia was deeply committed to developing stable relations and a partnership with Belarus and that deepening the cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, investments and trade represented an important step towards stronger economic growth and better living standards for Serbian citizens.
In a cordial and open discussion, the parties reviewed cooperation in trade, business, investments, agriculture, environmental protection and culture, as well as strengthening of ties between the Serbian and Belarusian chambers of commerce.
Macut and Karpovich noted that Serbia-Belarus relations were characterised by years-long friendship and mutual understanding, and expressed readiness to advance that cooperation to mutual benefit.
Macut thanked Karpovich for Belarus's principled position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo-Metohija, and noted that Serbia highly appreciated the stance and saw it as an expression of sincere friendship and respect for international law, the Serbian government said in a statement.
