BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from the head of the EU Mission to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret on Monday, and recapped the results of Serbia-EU cooperation during the ambassador's tenure in Belgrade.

"A cordial and friendly meeting with Ambassador Giaufret and an excellent opportunity to recap the results of the cooperation to date, which further contributed to strengthening the Serbia-EU relations during his tenure. We also exchanged views on other significant topics of importance for the partnership with the Union in many areas of mutual interest," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He noted that they had especially addressed progress in the implementation of projects envisioned under the Western Balkans Growth Plan, as well as joint energy and infrastructure projects in which the EU was a "good and dependable" partner to Serbia.

"I reiterated that we especially appreciate the cooperation with the EU, which is our country's top foreign trade partner, as well as one of the largest investors in projects that have been transforming the image of Serbia and raising the living standards of our citizens," Vucic noted.

He added that they had recalled both difficult and good moments, "when, step by step, we worked on reforms and undertakings that have brought great benefits to our citizens, especially in the energy sector, environmental protection and infrastructure connectivity with the EU."

Vucic especially thanked Giaufret for his personal efforts to strengthen the cooperation with Serbia, as well as for his friendly attitude towards the country.

"I wished him much success in his professional engagements in the future and invited him to visit Serbia again as a dear and esteemed guest," Vucic added.
