BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with the UK's special Western Balkans envoy Karen Pierce in Belgrade on Friday to discuss key issues of European integration, rule of law and parliamentary cooperation.
Brnabic said Serbia's EU path was a strategic priority and that institutions remained committed to carrying out reforms, including ODIHR recommendations, the National Assembly said in a statement.
Brnabic highlighted the significance of constructive dialogue in the parliament and inclusion of all relevant stakeholders in improvement of the electoral framework.
She especially noted the importance of boosting regional cooperation and stressed that security and stability in the Western Balkans were vital for Serbia.
Brnabic and Pierce agreed that strengthening parliamentary cooperation was important for spreading mutual understanding and for experience-sharing in the field of democracy and reforms.
Pierce extended an invitation to the National Assembly of Serbia to attend the upcoming Berlin Process conference and highlighted Serbia's importance in promoting regional cooperation and EU integration.
