Djuric meets with US special envoy for hostage affairs

WASHINGTON - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with the US Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs Adam Boehler in Washington on Thursday to discuss the situation in the Middle East and an urgent need for an immediate release of all hostages.

"Serbia will continue to advocate for a prompt and unconditional release of all remaining hostages abducted by Hamas in southern Israel, including Mr Alon Ohel, a dual citizen of the Republic of Serbia and the State of Israel," Djuric noted.

Informing Boehler of Ohel's extremely grave medical condition, including severe injuries he has sustained as a result of being wounded, Djuric "reiterated Serbia's readiness to provide any form of assistance and support," the Serbian MFA said.

"He also expressed the hope that all hostages will soon be reunited with their families," it said in a statement.
