Jerinic: Yemen to participate in EXPO 2027 Belgrade

BELGRADE - The 119 countries that have officially confirmed their participation in the specialised EXPO 2027 in Belgrade - to be held under the theme of Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All - include Yemen, and EXPO 2027 Director Danilo Jerinic has urged other Asian countries to join the event.

"We look forward to being able to get to know first-hand the rich cultural heritage of Yemen - an ancient state with incredible history - in less than two years' time in Belgrade, over a period of three months. The Serbian capital will have the rare privilege of uniting the whole world around music, play and sports, values that connect us all, and we therefore call on other Asian countries to join us in a celebration of human creativity and innovation at EXPO 2027," Jerinic said in an official statement.

Yemen joined the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in 1997 and made its debut at the specialised EXPO in Lisbon in 1998.

It has since been a regular EXPO participant, winning a gold medal at EXPO 2020 Dubai.
