BEIJING - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday Pristina was unwilling to implement any agreement from the dialogue with Belgrade, including the Washington Agreement, and noted that no one should hope for a recognition of the so-called Kosovo by Serbia.

Asked by Serbian reporters in Beijing whether the Washington Agreement could be revived in the wake of Donald Trump's return to presidential power, Vucic responded the agreement had primarily had to do with the economy.

"They (Pristina) were also pushing a part of their political agenda that had nothing to do with whether we will recognise them or not, and I refused that. Above all, it was an economic agreement, which they did not implement," he said.

"They are unwilling to implement any agreement but, in my opinion, they are not the problem," Vucic said, adding that, after the signing of the deal, Trump had been succeeded by Joe Biden.

"I guess he (Biden) wanted some other agreement - not the Brussels Agreement - to be implemented. That is not how it will work - the Brussels Agreement will have to be implemented, a Community of Serb Municipalities will have to be implemented, because, the way things are now, they (Pristina) can carry out sheer violence and use sheer force," Vucic said.

Recalling that the CNN had asked him what it would take for Serbia to recognise the so-called Kosovo, Vucic said no one should hope for that.

"The CNN has not aired my response, but I will respond today, too - do not hope for that, it will not happen," Vucic noted.

Commenting on his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Vucic said Serbia could expect further help and support from China on all issues, including Kosovo-Metohija.

"We can expect that also when it comes to various political issues, such as Kosovo-Metohija, territorial integrity and sovereignty, just like we, too, respect the One China principle, and we will not be giving up on that," Vucic said.
