BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Kirill Logvinov, a senior official of the Russian MFA, in Belgrade on Thursday and conveyed a message of Serbia's readiness to continue the good cooperation with the Russian Federation in the UN.
Djuric reiterated Serbia's commitment to priority areas of the UN's work.
He also thanked the Russian Federation for its principled position on the status of Serbia's autonomous province of Kosovo-Metohija.
"Pointing to the significance of continuity of dialogue and meetings at high and the top level, Djuric especially touched upon a recent meeting between Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing, noting that it confirmed mutual readiness to maintain the traditionally close ties between the two countries," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
Djuric noted that Belgrade saw the UN as the most important international organisation, especially when it comes to protecting Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Logvinov is heading a Russian delegation that is in Belgrade for consultations between the two MFAs on multilateral affairs.
