Vucic meets with Japanese PM

TOKYO - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on a working visit to Japan, met on Tuesday in Tokyo with Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba to discuss strengthening of political ties and mutual support in the international arena, as well as concrete opportunities for boosting Japanese investments in Serbia.
In an Instagram post, Vucic noted that the discussion with Ishiba had been very important and substantial.
"This meeting has far-reaching significance for the future of relations between our two countries as it concerns the key issues of political dialogue, economic development and cooperation in areas of vital importance for Serbian citizens," Vucic posted.
He added that special emphasis had been placed on economic modernisation, as well as on experience-sharing in technology, innovation and environmental protection.
"I am certain that the results of this meeting will help create new jobs, contribute to economic growth and to strengthening of economic stability in our country. Serbia will continue to develop relations with Japan on the foundations of mutual trust and respect, and this discussion with the PM represents a step towards creating an even stronger and more comprehensive partnership between our states," Vucic posted.
