Macut receives Chinese delegation

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with a Chinese delegation headed by Peng Qinghua, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, in Belgrade on Tuesday.
The parties concluded that Serbia and China would continue to deepen their partnership through joint economic projects and close political cooperation in the spirit of friendship and mutual support.
Macut highlighted the significance of the Serbia-China strategic partnership and of building a relationship with a shared future, and noted the exceptional friendly relationship and the very good cooperation between the two presidents, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping.
He noted that bilateral cooperation between Serbia and China was at an all-time high and added that Serbia attached huge importance to cherishing its iron-clad friendship with China and to joint projects contributing to economic development and the well-being of citizens of both countries.
He also noted continued advancement of bilateral cooperation in key economic and political areas and added that Serbia and China were connected by extremely important strategic projects in transport infrastructure and the railway sector.
He stressed that Chinese investments were extremely important for Serbia's economic growth and that projects that were underway were an important foundation for strengthening the economic cooperation.
He said artificial intelligence, the high tech sector, legislation, health care, green energy, agriculture, education and culture held huge potential for cooperation in the coming years.
The PM thanked China for supporting and respecting Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity and noted that Serbia, too, backed the One China policy.
Peng noted that China saw Serbia as an important friend and a partner and that it would continue to support peace, stability and development of Serbia, as well as its efforts towards preserving its sovereignty and independence in the international arena.
