BERN - Serbian Ambassador to Switzerland Ivan Trifunovic and State Secretary at the Swiss MFA Alexandre Fasel met in Bern on Thursday and expressed readiness to advance bilateral cooperation in application of science in diplomacy.
In a cordial and constructive discussion, the parties discussed bilateral relations between Serbia and Switzerland, with emphasis on advancement of cooperation in political dialogue, the economy and trade, culture, education and science, the Serbian embassy in Switzerland said in a statement.
It said special emphasis had been placed on the significance of science in diplomacy, one of the Swiss government's priorities, and that both parties had expressed readiness to further advance the cooperation in that field.
Trifunovic expressed special gratitude for the contribution and engagement of SWISSCOY, the Swiss contingent in KFOR, towards preservation of peace and security in Serbia's southern province of Kosovo-Metohija.
The ambassador pointed to the difficult situation of the non-Albanian population in the province, voicing concerns over violations of their fundamental human rights.
Trifunovic also conveyed his personal impressions regarding the difficult position of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs, which he witnessed during a visit to the province in 2024.
