BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic said on Monday the level of Tonino Picula's preoccupation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was "even becoming slightly amusing" as Picula, the European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia, was engaging in an "internal monologue" about Vucic's activities and, "like some little mouse", taking notes about what the Serbian president was doing and who he was meeting with.

"Picula looks at where we have acquired weapons from, who was a guest at the (military) parade and who was sitting where. And then, he analyses things for himself and expresses an opinion, but really no one cares about what he has to say," Brnabic posted on X in a reaction to Picula's assessment of Saturday's military parade in Belgrade.

She added that Vucic would be attending a UN General Assembly session in New York this week and that the Croatian MEP would "have his hands full keeping up with all his (Vucic's) meetings and activities."

Earlier, Picula posted that the parade, which showcased arms purchased in the East as well as in the West, was "a classic case of an eclectic foreign policy message by Vucic that he still intends to sit on several chairs."
