BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Georgian FM Maka Bochorishvili in New York on Wednesday to discuss topics of importance for advancing the cooperation between the two countries, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.
Djuric and Bochorishvili met on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly session.
"Minister Djuric recalled that Serbia and Georgia marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, expressing pride in the fact that ties between the two states are founded on friendship, as well as on the cultural, religious, and historical closeness of their peoples.
He underlined that there is significant potential for strengthening economic cooperation, to which the recently established direct air route between Belgrade and Tbilisi will greatly contribute," the MFA said.
"Minister Djuric welcomed Georgia’s decision to participate in the Specialised Exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, expressing confidence that this event will further deepen ties between the two countries," it said.
