Djuric: Serbia-Libya ties should be renewed

NEW YORK - Serbian FM Marko Djuric met with Libya's Acting FM Al-Taher Salem Al-Baour in New York to discuss the potential for cooperation and the most significant topics in the international arena.

Djuric highlighted the friendly relations and the years-long tradition of cooperation between Serbia and Libya, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

He said Serbia was interested in renewing ties with Libya through an exchange of high-level visits, and invited the Libyan counterpart to visit Serbia.

Djuric noted that Belgrade highly appreciated Libya's support on issues that were top national priorities for Serbia.

He also said he was pleased that Libya had confirmed its participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade and that it would be able to present itself to visitors from around the world at the specialised international expo.
