Macut, Mickoski discuss bilateral relations, economic cooperation

SKOPJE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met with North Macedonian PM Hristijan Mickoski in Skopje on Friday to discuss advancement of bilateral relations, economic cooperation and infrastructure ties.

The two PMs placed emphasis on development of trade, joint energy projects and facilitating the movement of people and goods, the Serbian government said in a statement.

They agreed it was necessary to strengthen the cooperation also by establishing a quick communication line between the two governments.

Macut expressed support for reform processes in North Macedonia, noting that Belgrade and Skopje would continue to cooperate on joint projects that were in the interest of the citizens of both countries.

Mickoski noted that Serbia was a sincere partner and a friend with which North Macedonia shared a vision of a stable, secure and prosperous Balkans.

Both parties agreed that deepening the friendly ties between the two countries represented a major contribution to regional stability and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.

During a working visit to Skopje, Macut also met with North Macedonian Deputy PM Ivan Stoilkovic.
