KAMPALA - Secretary General of the Serbian MFA Dusan Kozarev met with his Senegalese counterpart Khare Diouf in Kampala, Uganda on Wednesday on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The parties confirmed the traditionally good relations between Serbia and Senegal and noted that there was both space and a mutual need to deepen them further, the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

"The interlocutors discussed the potential for more dynamic cooperation in the areas of economy - with particular emphasis on agriculture and information technologies - as well as in defense and security, sports, and education. They also underlined the importance of more frequent high-level exchanges and the encouragement of mutual participation in various international fairs and events," the statement said.

Kozarev extended an invitation to Senegalese students to obtain Serbian scholarships under the World in Serbia programme and thanked Diouf for announcing Senegal’s participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade.

Closer cooperation between the Serbian and Senegalese MFAs in staff education was also agreed at the meeting.
