Macut meets with Shanghai mayor

SHANGHAI -  Serbian PM Djuro Macut, who is on an official visit to Shanghai, met with Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng on Tuesday to discuss advancement of cooperation and holding a Serbia Days event in the Chinese city.

"It is a great honour for me that, today, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng personally supported a proposal that we organise Serbia Days in Shanghai soon to promote our products and further improve external trade and present the economic potentials of our country, tourism, culture, etc," Macut said.

The parties especially noted the significance of further development and advancement of overall bilateral cooperation.

"At the event we will host, we will present the potentials of our Serbia to our Chinese friends in the best possible way," Macut added.

He said this was another confirmation of mutual respect and friendship between the two peoples, based on a personal and friendly relationship between Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, who he noted had raised Serbia-China cooperation to an all-time high by starting to build a community with a shared future.

The mayor said he was pleased to have hosted Macut and added that he hoped the relations between the two countries would be as good and as successful as possible.
